Transferring Camcorder Movies and Photos to DVD

Charges are based on the number of DVD discs created, each DVD disc holding up to 2 hours of video material or 600 photos.

Charges - Video Transfer

£19 per DVD disc produced.
£3 for an identical second copy of the DVD, if reqd.

£2 one-off delivery charge for each job.

Charges - Photos

 – high resolution pictures, linked in a slideshow on DVD

£12 for up to 100 photos,  or £25 for up to 300
£3 for an identical second copy of the DVD, if reqd.

£2 one-off delivery charge for each job.

Editing

Recordings made on Mini-DV tape cassette can be copied digitally and edited, (titles, annotation, image enhancement, scene deletion), and transferred to DVD, resulting in a good quality sharp image. Additional charges may apply for editing work.

Notes

  1. Identical disc copies can be made without degradation
  2. For longer movies, chapter marks will be inserted at 10 minute intervals to allow sections to be easily skipped when viewing.
  3. A DVD typically holds up to 2 hours of video at a reasonable quality. (more at lower quality, less at higher quality)
  4. DVD format is DVD-R, which is playable on most modern DVD players.
  5. Original material can be
    VHS tape, or Mini DV tape, or
    Jpg photos  (on CD, memory stick, camera card), or
    Picasa collections (albums,  slideshows, backup set)
  6. Please be aware that any degradation or lack of sharpness on older tapes cannot be corrected.
